The local's guide to Nashville farmers markets. Where to find fresh produce, local makers, and a good Saturday morning, by neighborhood and day.
Farmers markets are one of the easiest ways to see how Nashville actually eats. You get local produce, meat, eggs, baked goods, flowers, and a stack of small food makers, usually with live music and breakfast in the mix.
This guide covers five markets worth a trip, where each one is, and what day it runs. One note up front: market days and seasons change, and most neighborhood markets are seasonal, so confirm the current schedule before you drive over.
900 Rosa L. Parks Boulevard, Germantown. The big one and the anchor of the local food scene. It has an indoor Market House with restaurants and specialty shops open daily, plus outdoor farm sheds with produce and local vendors on market days. It sits right next to Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park downtown.
230 Franklin Road, Franklin. Held at The Factory at Franklin, about 30 minutes south of downtown. It is one of the region's largest and best-loved markets, with a deep lineup of farms and makers, and it runs Saturdays year-round, moving indoors in the cold months.
Sevier Park, 12th Avenue South. A seasonal neighborhood market in the green space of Sevier Park, in the heart of the 12 South district. It is small and walkable, easy to pair with shopping and coffee along 12th Avenue, and it typically runs on a weekday evening through the warm months.
4711 Charlotte Avenue, Sylvan Park. A Saturday morning market in Richland Park on the West Side. It is a true neighborhood market, known for heirloom tomatoes in summer, root vegetables in the cooler months, artisan cheese, cut flowers, and baked goods.
Shelby Park area, East Nashville. The East Side's neighborhood market, with a loyal local following. Expect organic produce, grass-fed meat, pasture-raised eggs, sourdough, vegan baked goods, and local coffee. It is seasonal and runs one weekday afternoon.
Market, tasting, and neighborhood food tours with local guides. Free cancellation on most bookings.
