The local's guide to Nashville shopping. One upscale mall, one outlet mall, and a handful of walkable boutique districts, sorted so you pick the right one.
Nashville shopping is a neighborhood game. There is no single shopping street that does it all. Instead you get one big upscale mall, one big outlet mall, and several walkable districts where the boutiques live. Pick the district that matches what you want and you save the most time.
This guide covers seven shopping areas, where each one is, and what it is best for. Individual boutiques open and close often, so this is organized by district rather than by store. Confirm hours for a specific shop before you go.
2126 Abbott Martin Road, Green Hills. Nashville's upscale mall, about five miles south of downtown, with more than 120 stores. It holds the city's luxury names, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co., Saint Laurent, and Burberry, alongside Nordstrom, Dillard's, and mainstream favorites. A large renovation is underway, so expect parts of the mall to look different through 2026.
12th Avenue South, south of downtown. A walkable mile-long strip and the city's best-known boutique district. You get local shops mixed with national brands, Reese Witherspoon's Draper James among them, plus cafes and restaurants along the way. It is the easiest district for browsing on foot.
The Gulch, just southwest of downtown. A compact, walkable district where shopping sits next to restaurants and bars. The mix runs from outdoor and athletic brands like Patagonia and lululemon to Nashville-rooted names, Western wear at Lucchese and Nashville Boot Co., and boutiques like Kittenish and Uncommon James.
5th Avenue and Broadway, downtown. Downtown shopping centers on the Fifth + Broadway development, which adds shops, restaurants, and the Assembly Food Hall steps from Lower Broadway. Broadway itself is the place for Western wear and cowboy boots, and Hatch Show Print sells its famous letterpress posters near the Country Music Hall of Fame.
21st Avenue South, near Vanderbilt. A small, leafy district by the Vanderbilt campus. It is a tighter, lower-key version of 12 South: a few blocks of independent boutiques, bookshops, and gift stores wrapped around coffee shops and restaurants.
East Nashville, across the river. The East Side is the city's vintage and independent corner. Shops cluster around Five Points and along the main streets: vintage clothing, record stores, makers, and quirky gift shops, the opposite end of the spectrum from the Green Hills mall.
433 Opry Mills Drive, near the Opryland complex. Nashville's big outlet mall, out by the Grand Ole Opry and Gaylord Opryland. It is a large indoor mall built around outlet and value retailers, plus a movie theater and restaurants. Worth the drive only if bargain shopping is the goal.
